Event News

As you are most probably aware by now the Ozjeepjamboree 2008 WA has been cancelled. This unfortunately would have been a fantastic event and a lot of people have already made commitments with holidays and transportation.

The Cherokee Club Australia has decided to undergo the organisation of this event and would like to get the word out to as many club members as we are obviously pressed for time.

The event will be know as the 2008 National Jeep Jamboree - Wattagan Mountains on the Central Coast in NSW and will be held in the Morriset Showground. This event will be still held on the WA Long Weekend dates the 26th – 29th September. The reason is people would have already made holiday commitments and to book a venue of that size for a NSW Long weekend with this much notice would have been impossible. It is also central to both QLD & VIC. We are currently working on registration forms and pricing with a web page online by the middle of February. ONLY available to Jeep Vehicle Owners only due to numbers.

The event will at this stage cover all the basics such as camping, toilet & shower facilities as well as catered meal - Fantastic drives as the Wattagan’s is our playground ranging from easy to extreme 4wding with access to Stockton Beach & Hunter Valley Wineries.

At this stage we would like each club to contact us in relation to how many members they currently have. We can then distribute you the required amount of registration forms. Also if you could mention this event at you next general meeting that would be great. Due to the short time frame for relocation we need to get word out to as many as possible and registration forms will also be available in the March issue of Jeep Action Australia.

I will keep you posted on more information as it comes to hand.

Camp Coffs

Camp Coffs 2008

Camp Coffs is rapidly approaching. This year the event is being held at the Nana Glen Equestrian Centre over the Easter break. Start planning your gear and timetable now. As the Club will be assisting with trip guides and other essential tasks don't forget to volunteer for something. Talk to the Club President or Sergeant at Arms for ideas.

This year a range of new trips are being planned to cater for all vehicles and preferences. Don't forget this will be the BIGGEST Jeep event held in Australia in 2008.

There will be more information on the Jeep Action website (see the Great Jeep Links) or check out your latest issue of Jeep Action Australia
